Respect the mountains. Ski another day

Anna Scheirlinck feels most at home chasing turns in the Craigieburn Range, whether it is storm snow in the trees, steep gullies, technical couloirs, or long days moving along ridgelines. Her approach to the mountains is grounded in one simple idea: respect the mountains, ski another day. For Anna, the best days are not only about perfect weather or perfect powder, but about good friends making smart decisions together, sharing effort on the climb, laughing through the hard moments, and earning memorable lines along the way. She brings grit when conditions get tough, values partners she can truly trust, and believes that strong mountain days are built on attitude, awareness, and knowing your snow. From ski crampon lessons learned the hard way to always packing an extra warm layer for wet blizzards, Anna is all about finding joy in the mountains without forgetting what keeps a day safe.

Go-to snack in your pack?

Leftover pizza

An 'oh no' moment you learned the most from?

I took a short slide because I was trying to skin ice without my ski crampons on. Get the sharps out early, or else it'll be too late!

One tip for great days?

Choose good buddies.

Guilty-pleasure song – giving you energy while skinning?

Elton John - Yellow Brick Road

Your 'superpower' in the mountains?

Getting my grit on to make it to basecamp, when we're all tired, hungry & the storm has hit.

Your perfect day recipe

Good friends, making good decisions together. The weather, snow and conditions can all be average but it doesn't really matter with the right mix of people making good calls. We'll still get out in the mountains, get a sweat on, have some laughs and ski some lines!

Your mountain mantra

Know Your Snow

How do you choose partners

I choose people I can trust. I choose people who have a great attitude, who are positive and fun and enjoy pushing themselves.

Post ski ritual

A Sauna or Onsen then a nice cold beer together is hard to beat!

Coffee, tea or cocoa on tour?

Coffee

Biggest gear fail (and lesson)?

Trying to go too lightweight so I took one less warm layer on the top. We ended up in a wet blizzard which soaked through all of my clothing and I nearly ended up hypothermic! Always take an extra midlayer that can handle wet snow.
