Massimiliano Iaquinoto

Memento Audere Semper — ride fast, climb hard, never ask permission

Massimiliano brings big-breakfast energy to steep days in Nordreisa—curious on the climb, precise on the descent. He favors sharp couloirs and fast, clean skiing when the snowpack says yes, and he keeps respect for the wild at the heart of every plan. The lessons he carries are written in capital letters: stay humble, prepare deeply, and let the mountain have the last word. Almonds and chocolate in the pocket, good music in the head, and a wide smile when the line opens up.

An 'oh no' moment you learned the most from?

400 meters down ‘Live Undead.’

This wasn’t just a fall—it was a wild ride through Røyalkampen in Moskodal, Nordreisa, down a couloir I’d just named ‘Live Undead’ after the Slayer song I was listening to at the time. Along the way, I lost my skis, poles, ice axe, both headlights, and even my GoPro, which detached from my helmet mid-tumble, with the battery flying off at some point.

The mountains don’t play games, and this was a brutal reminder of how quickly things can escalate. Amazingly, I walked away without serious injuries—just a story to tell and a healthy dose of respect for the raw power of nature. Moments like this make you reflect on the risks we take for adventure. Stay humble, stay prepared, and always respect the wild.
