Splitboarding is my moving meditation

For Trevor, splitboarding is more than just getting to the line, it is moving meditation. Based around Berthoud Pass, he is most at home on powder days, spring corn missions and clear bluebird tours, with a special love for open bowls, steep gullies and technical couloirs.

As a Gara Splitboards athlete, Trevor brings a grounded and thoughtful approach to the mountains. He values the quiet one-on-one feeling with nature, the kind of days where every step uphill helps you slow down, focus and stay present with the terrain in front of you. That mindset shapes the way he rides, the way he plans, and the way he travels through the backcountry.

Trevor believes the best mountain partners are the ones who share a similar risk tolerance, communicate openly and bring both good judgment and good energy to the day. For him, safe decision-making and a relaxed, honest group dynamic are what make the best tours possible. Strong opinions are welcome, speaking up matters, and the goal is always the same: good turns, good company and getting home with a smile.

When the skins come off and the day is done, Trevor is happy with simple rewards—coffee on tour, Honeystinger gels in the pack, and a post-ski stop at the local brewery. His favorite days are not just about the line itself, but about the full experience: earning turns, staying present, reading the mountain well, and enjoying every part of a day built on respect for the conditions.

Your mountain mantra

Appreciating a pure one-on-one with the mountain. Splitboarding to me is find a moving meditation and a practice of being fully present with what is in front of you.

How do you choose partners

Based on splitboarders with the same risk tolerance as me. Also, people with with great attitudes in the mountains. I love being with outgoing, down-to-earth, and funny people who also have smart decision making and I feel comfortable speaking up to.

Post ski ritual

Having a brew at a local brewery. Rayback is our favorite!
