Ville Strandman
From the Lyngen light to the Caucasus, Ville guides with warmth, precision, and a love for great snow.
Ville is the kind of ski guide who makes you feel welcome from the first handshake, equal parts seasoned professional and pure stoke. With nearly 40 years on skis and more than 20 years in the backcountry, he’s built a life around chasing good snow and sharing it with others. Based between Northern Norway and the Caucasus, Ville brings a calm, experience-led approach to every day out: keep the pace steady, keep the group smiling, and let the mountains decide the rhythm.
He’s a certified CSGA ski guide and a FINLAV snow-safety instructor, and you feel that mix of competence and enthusiasm in how he moves through terrain, open bowls, gladed lines, and those classic spring corn days when everything just clicks. Ville’s philosophy is refreshingly simple: the more you ski, the more great days you get. Add rye bread in the pack, coffee on the move, and a well-earned beer after, and you’ve got his recipe. And if there’s one lesson he’ll happily repeat, it’s the practical one: check your gear before you head out, because even a binding without screws can happen.
