New to Skida? Here’s how to turn our ski touring app into your go-to tool for finding the best ski touring routes, reading the avalanche forecast, and choosing the right map layers for today’s conditions.

Skida’s map menu lets you tailor what you see fast. Pick from a wide range of regional maps (choose the best base map for your area), then add smart overlays: steepness (slope angle) shading, the avalanche forecast in the map, suggested routes in the map, snow depths, and snowfall forecast. Tap the layers icon, toggle what you need, and compare views to spot friendly terrain for the day. This flexible setup makes route-finding in unfamiliar zones simpler—and helps locals see their home mountains with fresh eyes.

You’ll always see the avalanche information for your current area behind the danger-level icon in the map view. One tap shows the avalanche forecast details so you can quickly identify problem aspects (which compass directions are touchy) and elevation bands with issues.

Use this context directly in the map: with filters, you can show routes in aspects and elevations you interpret as safer for the day. You can also filter by category and other attributes—so you choose a tour that fits your skills, your group, and the conditions. That’s the Skida way: a practical ski touring workflow that keeps planning clear and decisions calm.

Skida gives you easy search and filtering of ski touring routes

Whether you’re chasing powder laps or mellow spring cruisers, Skida brings the essentials together: the right map layers, live avalanche forecast context, and filterable ski touring routes. Open the app, set your layers, check the forecast, filter your options and head out with a plan that matches the day. Skida: simple tools for smarter mountain choices.
