Keep your map and route info even without signal

Mountain coverage can be unpredictable. One minute you’re online, the next you’re in a dead zone, and that’s usually when you most want quick access to your route details, map view, and key information.
That’s why Skida lets you download routes for offline mode, so you can keep planning and navigating even when you have zero bars.
Why offline mode matters
In the backcountry, “no signal” shouldn’t mean “no plan.”
Offline routes help you:
keep route details available when reception disappears
avoid slow loading in areas with weak data
stay focused on your route without relying on connectivity
It’s a simple step that can remove a lot of friction, and add a layer of safety, before you head out.

How to download a route in Skida
Downloading is route centric, designed to be quick and easy:
Find the route you want
Open the route and go to Route details
Tap the … (menu) at the top
Choose Download
That’s it, you’ve started the offline download.

Important: keep the app open while it downloads
One thing to remember: keep Skida open while the download is running.
Depending on your connection, it might take a little time before everything is saved properly. Stay in the app until you see the confirmation that the route is downloaded.
If you close the app too early, the download may not finish.

Where to find your downloaded routes
Once downloaded, your offline routes are easy to manage:
Go to My stuff
Open the collection Downloaded
This gives you a clear overview of what you have saved and ready to use offline—perfect for quick access before starting your tour (or for checking the night before).
A simple habit before you leave
Before heading into areas with uncertain reception, make it a routine:
choose your route
download it
confirm it’s saved under My stuff → Downloaded
Small step, big payoff, especially when the mountains decide your phone doesn’t get signal today.
